Academic Support Program
In order to optimize student learning, St. David’s School offers two avenues of educational support: In-class accommodations and individualized instructional services scheduled during the school day.
For students needing additional support during the school day, St. David’s is pleased to offer educational support to help those students succeed in the classroom. To qualify for support, the student must meet the following criteria:
- Documentation, within the past three years, of a complete psycho-educational evaluation completed by a licensed psychologist, educational therapist, or, for Lower School students only, a speech/language pathologist report is acceptable.
- Diagnosis of a learning disability, and/or ADHD, or identified area of significant weakness.
Options for educational support are designed to meet a student's individual needs, and thereby ensure the best outcome for each participant. Our two programs include:
St. David’s offers limited accommodations based on the documented need of the student. These are decided upon each year after a careful review of the student’s psycho-educational testing that is on file in the Academic Support office, as well as the student’s use of the accommodations in the classroom during the year. In-class accommodations are facilitated at no additional charge.
Curriculum modifications are not offered at St. David’s School.
Individualized instructional services scheduled during the school day fall under the Academic Support Program. Highly trained learning specialists will work with students twice a week to provide curriculum-based services consisting of academic skill-building and strategy intervention. Additionally, we provide systematic, multi-sensory reading instruction targeting phonics, fluency, and comprehension skills. The goal of the program is to support students in their academic endeavors at St. David’s School while fostering independent learning for a lifetime.
The cost of the Academic Support Program is $2,500 per semester. This fee is separate from tuition. A non-refundable deposit of $250 is due before a place will be reserved. This deposit will be applied towards the semester ASP fee. Billing is administered through the Business Office and is payable online.
