Affording St. David's

Families applying for St. David's Tuition Assistance must complete the Application for Tuition Assistance from the Tuition Aid Data Services (TADS). In addition to the online application, the following documentation is required:

• A copy of your most recent 1040 Federal Tax Returns with original signatures
• Business/Farm Statement and Corporate Tax Return/Schedule C/Schedule F (as needed)
• A copy of W-2 Forms
• A copy of most recent pay stub

The St. David’s School Tuition Assistance Committee reviews the information submitted and calculates the demonstrated need, following the guidelines of TADS and the St. David's School Tuition Assistance Policy.

By using TADS procedures, St. David’s School agrees to certain principles and practices:

• Tuition assistance will be determined on the basis of the need of the family.
• The tuition assistance process is completely confidential.
• The parents of each applicant must reapply for tuition assistance via TADS and NCOS each year.
• Tuition assistance awards will be made without regard to race, color, nationality, or ethnic origin.

The North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority (NCSEAA)  offer the North Carolina Opportunity Scholarship to parents of students in entering grades kindergarten through 12. Scholarships are awarded based on a family’s household income and can be used to pay the required tuition and fees to attend an eligible private school, including St. David's.

These awards, ranging from approximately $3,000 to $7,000 can be used to assist in paying for tuition and fees at independent schools. A student’s scholarship award is determined by the NCSEAA and is based on both household income and availability of state funds. NC Opportunity Scholarship awards are paid directly to the school.

Families applying for St. David's Tuition Assistance must also apply online for the North Carolina Opportunity Scholarship (NCOS).

The Opportunity Scholarship application for the 2024-2025 school year will open from February 1–March 1, 2024 and can be accessed by visiting https://www.ncseaa.edu/k12/opportunity/how-to-apply-for-the-opportunity-scholarship/.

All current and prospective St. David’s School families are encouraged to take a closer look and to apply.  

Standardized test scores for students receiving Opportunity Scholarship funds will be submitted at the end of each academic year as a requirement of participation in the program. 

St. David’s families receiving tuition assistance awards from the school are required to also apply for the North Carolina Opportunity Scholarship.

All students, with the exception of those whose tuition is paid in full by September 1 for the following school year, are required to enroll in the A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. Tuition Refund Plan. The mandatory annual fee is 1.75% of total tuition and will be included as a separate charge payable with the first tuition payment. For more information, please review the A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. Nehemiah Leadership Scholarship and Deborah Leadership Scholarship

These scholarships will be awarded to students who demonstrate a commitment to personal leadership development by both seeking a mentor and actively providing mentorship to younger students with the goal of fostering virtue formation and encouraging a commitment to excellence in self and others.

Working within the oversight and guidance of a mentor-led program, recipients of these leadership scholarships will participate in ongoing leadership development opportunities each year.

2 Peter 1:5 Scholarship

The foundation of our school's motto, 2 Peter 1:5 implores us to "make every effort to add to your faith virtue; and to virtue, knowledge." This scholarship will be awarded to a curious and eager learner who engages wholeheartedly both in and out of the classroom and who, by doing so, awakens wonder in others as well.

Recipients of this scholarship are recognized for their demonstrated commitment to academic excellence as students at St. David’s, and commit to foster and cultivate that same level of commitment and priority within the overall community at St. David’s, serving as particular examples among their peers.

José Cornejo Scholarship

In Matthew 28:19, Jesus commissions his disciples to "go and make disciples of all nations." This scholarship will be awarded to a student with a demonstrated commitment to discipleship through cheerful service in partnership with local churches and Raleigh-area Christian non-profit organizations.

Recipients of this scholarship will participate in ongoing service opportunities each year, specifically aimed at fostering new or existing partnerships between local churches or Christian non-profits and St. David's students.

Bezalel Scholarship

From the book of Exodus, we learn that Bezalel was "filled with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, understanding, knowledge and all kinds of skills to make artistic designs." He used these skills in the construction of the tabernacle, including creating the Ark of the Covenant. This scholarship will be awarded to a student with demonstrated commitment to expanding their capacity for appreciating beauty through discovery, innovation, expression and creative design.

Recipients of this scholarship will actively participate in fine arts and/or Innovation Warriors opportunities through elective coursework, co-curricular involvement and performance, independent studies and/or learning opportunities outside of school.
