Welcome

Dear Athletes and Parents,

As we embark on the 2011-2012 school year, the coaching staff is extremely excited about the opportunities ahead. Our facilities are complete and for the second full year we will benefit greatly from them! Our tradition of excellence will not only be maintained but it is our utmost desire to see it fulfilled to its highest potential. Our staff and facilities are just a couple of indicators pointing to our goal to grow this program each year. We are dedicated to grow as coaches and we will expect the same dedication from our players.

While academics will always be the priority at St. David's School, we will complement our scholastics with high caliber and highly competitive athletic teams. And as we compete, we will continue to enjoy the friendship, the opportunities for leadership, and the memories that a dynamic athletic program offers. St. David's is proud to announce that the athletic department has won the 2010-2011 Wachovia Cup. This is the second consecutive year that St. David's has achieved this magnificent accomplishment within the 2A classification of all NCISAA schools.

St. David's is a member of the Eastern Plains Independent Conference (EPIC) at the JV and Varsity levels. This is a 2A conference within the North Carolina Independents School Athletic Association. Other member schools of the EPIC include Arendell Parrott Academy, Cary Christian School, Halifax Academy, Kerr Vance Academy, and Rocky Mt. Academy. All middle school teams are a member of the Triangle Middle School Conference (TMSC). All schools affiliated with the TMSC can be found at www.eteamz.com/trianglemsc

St. David's also understand that changes to schedules and events can occur with little time to react, for example, in the event of inclement weather. In those situations, we will provide information via our Sports Hotline (571-8992) and we will post announcements on the home page of our website in the Announcement section as quickly as possible.

This year each athlete, as well as the parents of athletes, will be asked to read, acknowledge, and accept the procedures, policies, and guidelines found in the Athletic Handbook . You will find the Handbook on the website along with a Handbook Agreement. The Handbook contains important and pertinent information about our program. We hope each of you will find this information beneficial. As a gentle reminder, please understand that we want our coaches focused on coaching. Our ability to communicate is best done collectively. We understand that situations arise that may not be covered in the Handbook or on the website, therefore we will also welcome questions and concerns at the appropriate times as outlined in the Handbook.

Once again, we are excited about the upcoming year and we look forward to seeing you on the field, court, and track!

Go Warriors!
