Friends

Dear St. David's School Community,
Welcome to another year of excellence on the beautiful campus of
St. David's School! A warm welcome to all our new families! We are truly blessed to be in the midst of a school community where parents and children alike are valued and encouraged by our devoted board, faculty and staff.
Hand in hand with these divisions of faculty and administration is our parent organization, Friends . As a parent of a St. David's student, you are automatically a member! Being a part of Friends is a great way to meet other parents and have fun while serving our school with your talents and time. Whatever measure of time you are able to give will be multiplied in the many ways it helps our school community.
This handbook is everything you need to get involved in your parent organization. It lists your Executive Board information, Committee and Co-Chair contact information as well as descriptions of all 27 school committees that keep our faculty, administration, parents and children enriched as a community! Hopefully, you'll find a committee which you feel led to join. If you have any questions or wish to sign up on a committee, just email the respective committee chairs and they will be happy to get you plugged right in!
Please note the last page of the handbook reflects our 2010 -2011 Friends Calendar of Events . Our monthly Friends meetings are very informative. These meetings keep you connected and in the loop on campus-wide information, as well as give you convenient opportunities to purchase St. David's apparel and Scrip cards. More importantly, it is a time to fellowship with other parents in your school community over morning coffee! These meetings are scheduled on the second Thursday of each month. Please note that in October and March we will hold lunchtime meetings. Mark your calendars now to come join us!
It doesn't take long for anyone to realize that St. David's is a unique community filled with generous and caring parent volunteers. Our parents, along with enthusiastic faculty give our children the building blocks for a foundation in the values of faith, virtue and knowledge. I look forward to serving along with you this year as Friends president and ask that you don't hesitate to contact me. Our signature verse for Friends is Proverbs 17:17, “ a Friend loves at all times.” I pray our parent organization will love and feel loved as we serve others wholeheartedly this year.
His love,
Stephanie Earp
