Field Trips: Twelfth Grade

The senior trip is an overseas
excursion designed to be a culminating cultural experience as well as
a celebration of our seniors' careers. The late-May trip brings together all of
the students' studies, especially their deep explorations of Western culture and
its various influences on the world.
The classes of 2007 and 2008 traveled to Greece, where they visited, among other
historically significant places, the city of Athens (the birthplace of Western civilization)and
the ancient city of Ephesus, one of the best-preserved Roman cities in the world.
Our visit to Ephesus will include the Amphitheater, where the apostle Paul preached
to the Ephesians.
Other St. David's graduating classes enjoyed a week-long excursion to Scotland and
England, where they tour the lands surrounding Stirling, where Sir William Wallace
defeated the English during Scotland's fight for freedom, examine the ruins in St.
Andrews, explore the "Castles and Kings" of Edinburgh, wonder at the remnants
of the Roman spas in Bath, tour the Medieval stronghold at York, and luxuriate in
the splendid intellectual environments of Oxford.
