The middle school baseball Warriors won their first conference game, 4-1, over Magellan Charter Monday at the Satellite Athletic Complex. Jack Barbour led off with a triple and scored in the first inning and Luke Fuller drove in two runs with a single in the second. Fuller also earned the pitching victory, coming within one out of a complete game. “We played great in every phase today,” said coach Jason Redmond. “The pitching, hitting and defense were all terrific.”

The middle school baseball team lost, 6-5, to Grace Christian at Bond Park in Cary Monday. The Warriors had the tying run at second base in the last inning, but grounded out to end the game. “We played well, but came up a run short,” said coach Jason Redmond. “I was proud of our effort.” Jake Barbour went 2-2 with a pair of walks and three runs scored. Busbee Phillips had two hits, while Jack Denny (double), William Fox and Luke Fuller each had one hit. St. David’s plays at NRCA Thursday.

The middle school baseball Warriors lost to Parrott Academy, 11-4, Thursday at the Satellite Athletic Complex. The game was tied at two after the first inning, then the Patriots went ahead 7-4 after six innings then scored four in the seventh. “We competed well against a good team”, said coach Jason Redmond, whose team is 1-1. “Jake Barbour and Jack Denny pitched well and William Fox fielded well at second base.” Fox had five assists and a putout. Barbour and Denny had a hit and scored a run. Luke Fuller walked twice and scored a pair of runs. Busbee Phillips had the Warriors other hit.

MS Baseball Wins Opener

The middle school baseball Warriors opened the St. David’s spring sports season with a 19-1 rout of Friendship Christian Thursday at the Satellite Athletic Complex. SDS scored five runs in the first on a pair of hits from Jake Barbour and Luke Fuller, then took advantage of multiple errors, walks and hit batsmen for five more in the second and seven in the fourth. We did a good job of putting the ball in play,” said coach Jason Redmond. “You give yourself a chance when you do that and it was great way to start the season.” Barbour had two of the Warriors six hits, stole four bases, scored four runs and earned the victory on the mound.
