The varsity girls lacrosse team ended the most successful season in program history with a 19-6 loss to St. Mary’s Tuesday at the Satellite Athletic Complex. The Warriors finished the season 5-8, which included five straight wins and more victories than the first three seasons combined. “It was a great season,” said second-year coach Daphne Connor. “The girls came together as a team on and off the field and everyone’s skill level improved.” Lillian York led the Warriors scoring with four goals and Anna Grace Call added two.

Four Straight For Girls LAX

The longest winning streak in the four-year history of varsity girls lacrosse is now four games after a 13-9 victory over D.H. Conley HS of Greenville Thursday at the Satellite Athletic Complex. After the Vikings scored on the opening faceoff, the Warriors (5-7) looked to Lillian York and Lindsey Klinck for five straight goals on the way to an 8-5 halftime lead. The Vikings scored early in the second half to make it 8-6, but St. David’s answered with four straight scores and made the lead stand up. “The girls have done a great job of trusting each other,” said coach Daphne Connor. “They are passing much better and playing a more team oriented game.” York led the scoring with seven goals. Klinck added five and Lizzie Montague had one. The regular season ends Tuesday at home against St. Mary’s.

The girls varsity lacrosse team won its third straight match, 22-9, over the North Carolina Lacrosse Academy on Senior Night Tuesday at the Satellite Athletic Complex. Lillian York poured in 12 goals to lead the Warriors. Lindsey Klinck scored four, while Summer Ferrell and Lindsey Rittenmeyer added two each. “We had a fun match today,” said coach Daphne Connor, whose team is 4-7. “Charlotte Hoff is usually our goalie, but she played in the field today. Lauren Bailey took her spot and did a good job. It was also the first time Summer and Lindsey (Rittenmeyer) have scored this season.”

The varsity girls lacrosse team won its second match in as many days, 15-10, at Cape Fear Academy in Wilmington Friday. Lillian York poured in eight goals to lead the scoring. Lizzie Montague found the net four times and Lindsey Klinck had three goals. “It was an amazing game,” said coach Daphne Connor. “We played well against them for the first half in our game at home, but they came back and won. This time we fought hard the entire time. I’m very proud of our effort and the result.”

The varsity girls lacrosse team earned a 15-10 victory over the North Carolina Lacrosse Academy Thursday at the Satellite Athletic Complex. The teams traded the lead early before the Warriors took a 9-5 halftime advantage and maintained it in the second half. “Our passing was right on point today,” said coach Daphne Connor. “We were finding the open player and that led to more scoring opportunities.” Lillian York led the scoring with six goals. Lindsey Klinck scored five, Lizze Montague had two and Summer Ferrell and Sarah Dean Barbour added one goal each for the Warriors most balanced scoring this season.
